  • • Capacity: : If the number of holidaymakers exceeds the gîte capacity, the owner can either increase the rental price or refuse the extra customers.
  • • Inventory: : on arrival, an inventory is carried out and both the tenant and the owner must sign the documents within 48 hours. You should have a close look around the gîte and, if necessary, make comments especially if it is in poor condition.
  • • Security deposit: : on arrival, the customer must pay the owner a security deposit which will be returned to him/her on departure or within a week, after deduction of eventual damage caused by the customer. Owners of pet-friendly accommodation may ask for an extra deposit.
  • • Season and rental rates: : The prices mentioned amount to the total cost of the gîte rental and change according to the season. Price is per week (from Saturday afternoon 4.00pm to Saturday morning 10.00am) or shortened week (4 nights) or weekend (2 nights).

  • • Charges and extra charges: : At the end of the stay, the tenant must pay the owner all the charges and extra not included in the price: cleaning service, bed linen and household linen hire, tourist tax …The amount of heating charges may be based on real consumption (meter readings will be taken upon arrival and departure) or established on a calculation basis fixed by the owner and mentioned on the written description of the accommodation enclosed with the rental agreement.
  • • Cleaning: : the tenant must return the gîte cleaned and in the same condition as when he/she took possession of it. Failure to do so may lead the owner to claim compensation or charge a cleaning fee.
  • • Phone: : some gîtes are equipped with a phone and have the « Téléséjour» phone service. This service allows you to phone everywhere using your France Telecom card that you can ask from your France Telecom office before you leave home. The phone call charges will be added to your invoice. Other gîtes are equipped with mobile phones using phone cards.
  • • Certificate of stay: : it is issued by the Relais Départemental des Gîtes de France on presentation of the rental agreement (original copy) or by the reservation service at the customer’s request.
